**Outdoor Adventures** The Chattahoochee National Forest surrounds the area with hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. The Cohutta Wilderness is just a short drive and offers some of the most remote backcountry in the southern Appalachians.

**Local Favorites** Downtown Ellijay is full of charming shops, local restaurants, and friendly faces. Don't miss the apple orchards in season — apple cider donuts are worth the trip alone.

**Seasonal Events** The Georgia Apple Festival in October draws visitors from across the southeast. Fall is peak season in these mountains, and for good reason.
